Electrified Thermal Solutions, developer of the Joule Hive Thermal Battery for industrial decarbonisation, has announced the opening of its European office in Amsterdam and the appointment of Ashwin Imambaks as European Sales Director. This strategic expansion positions the company to serve growing demand for cost-effective industrial heat decarbonisation solutions across France, Germany and other European markets.

Europe presents a compelling market opportunity for thermal battery technology, where favorable economics are already driving adoption. In Scandinavia and parts of Western Europe, off-peak electricity pricing combined with high natural gas costs make the Joule Hive Thermal Battery cost-competitive with natural gas and other fossil fuels, without requiring subsidies. In larger industrial markets like Germany and France, the volatility of natural gas prices, exacerbated by geopolitical supply disruptions, has underscored the need for more predictable energy alternatives. Thermal batteries provide that stability by storing low-cost, off-peak electricity while earning balancing service revenue by supporting electrical grids.

“The economics of industrial heat in Europe are shifting fast. Cheap, electrified heat is not just cleaner than natural gas, it often beats it on price, while offering the stability needed to insulate operations from the geopolitical disruptions that have roiled natural gas markets,” said Daniel Stack, CEO and Co-founder of Electrified Thermal Solutions. “Our Amsterdam office positions us to work directly with European manufacturers seeking reliable, ultra-high temperature heat for their most demanding processes.”

“The European industrial sector is actively seeking proven alternatives to fossil fuel-powered industrial heat that deliver both emissions reductions and economic value, largely driven by decarbonisation mandates,” said Ashwin Imambaks. “Electrified Thermal’s technology offers manufacturers a practical pathway to decarbonize processes requiring temperatures up to 1,800°C, applications that have historically had no viable alternative to burning natural gas or other fossil fuels.”

The Joule Hive Thermal Battery converts renewable or off-peak electricity into industrial-grade heat at temperatures up to 1,800°C using proprietary electrically conductive firebricks, delivering a 20-30 year operational lifespan without the degradation common to conventional electric heating systems.
